For those who often handle a lot of print work, printer ink stains are a common problem. Just like any other type of ink, they are very difficult to get rid off. Fortunately, however, there is still hope for your expensive button-down shirt and here are a few simple but sure-fire tricks on removing them completely. But before anything else, prepare all the necessary cleaning tools, including toothbrush, paper towels, hair spray or alcohol, sponge, bleach, stain stick, towel, and liquid detergent.
Now, to begin with, if the stain is still new, dab a damp sponge on it in very slow motions, and then let it air dry. After which, depending what you have in hand, dab it either with alcohol or spray it with hair spray. Then, put the stained fabric in between two pieces of paper towels and blot its backside until the ink spot is forced into the other side. Continue doing so until you are satisfied. Finish up with standard laundry treatment using the liquid detergent.
Next, for stains that have already set in, start by dabbing liquid detergent on it. Moving forward, gently scrub it with a toothbrush. If it starts to lift, wipe it with a towel. Nevertheless, if it does not work, try using a solution made of equal amounts of water and bleach. Dip the brush inside the mixture and then use it to scrub the fabric. Although slowly, doing so will definitely get rid of the printer ink. After that, wash the garment right away to keep the blemish from setting back in. Finally, if this unfortunate mishap happens at your office, then you can use the stain stick that you have prepared beforehand so that you will no longer need to do the complicated process of removing the tint.
